Why do we pledge?

By Alex Rudy

Each member of our community made a commitment to contribute every year. We don't ask that all contributions are financial - but we do want to ask you to please strongly consider pledging some financial assistance for the church.

Pledged contributions are the primary way that we plan and organize our finances for the year. Every week, we have our moment of generosity where we pass the plate around - but if that is all we did, we'd be in the dark. We use our membership pledges to set our budget, invite worship leaders, and ensure we can continue to pay folks for the great work that they do bringing us spirtual guidance.

Pledging is a simple process - around the time of the annual meeting each year, we'll distribute pledge cards. A pledge is a promise to contribute some amount of finacial assitance throughout the year.

They can be monthly, weekly, or on whatever cadence works best for you. Completing a pledge card is how we know how much money the congregation as a whole aims to contribute. It is this steady contribution which is most important for our budgeting.
